Hi there,

My name is Jason Christie, I'm a photographer from Brisbane, Australia and I specialise in dance and portraiture photography.

Originally having studied photography whilst at high school in Victoria with black and white film, I continued my studies in photography upon moving to Queensland at the Queensland College of Art, where I majored in Photojournalism working with both film and digital.

Whilst photojournalism and documentary photography remain an interest and certainly still has an effect on my work, my photography evolved to being more focused on portraiture and fashion in various forms.

However for the past four years my passion and focus has most certainly been dance photography. From ballet to contemporary dance I am passionate about working with dancers - and improving myself - to best capture their amazing talent and art form. I’ve been honoured to work with numerous dancers from Queensland’s own Queensland Ballet Academy and Queensland National Ballet School but also from other states in Australia and internationally with the San Francisco Ballet School and Master Ballet Academy in Phoenix, USA.
