Frequently asked questions.

DO I HAVE TO PAY UPFRONT?

To confirm your studio photoshoot the booking fee must be paid in advance to secure you preferred date and time. In case of a cancellation 50% of the fee is non-refundable or the fee can be transferred to a new date and time given enough notice. The remaining cost of your photoshoot will be invoiced to by email you after your photo selection.

Can you arrange a hair and makeup artist?

Yes indeed I can! While nearly all dancers certainly can do their own hair and makeup this is the most common request I receive. Professional hair and makeup can be arranged in advance and done at the studio prior to the shoot itself, when booking just let me know your style preferences etc. Pricing for this can vary depending on the look you are after but expect between $150 to $250.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SHOOT?

I do recommend contacting me 2-3 weeks prior to your preferred date however I can sometimes take last minute bookings however cannot guarantee my availability. If we are shooting outdoors we will be subject to the light and weather, I generally shoot early morning or late afternoon for the best light when outside depending on the location. I also recommend having a backup date should we have inclement weather for these reasons.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME?

Any persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For anyone else this is purely optional, if you’d like to bring a friend or even your dance teacher just let me know in advance..

CAN I BOOK A SHOOT WITH A FRIEND?

Certainly! Whilst my photoshoots are intended to be for an individual I am more than happy to accommodate up to two dancers per shoot, whether this be for a pas de deux or just splitting the time and cost of a photoshoot. Please let me know when booking your photoshoot if this is something you wish to do.

DO you TRAVEL TO OTHER AREAS?

Yes indeed I do! I shoot throughout South East Queensland, from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast without any travel fee, however travelling beyond these areas may incur a travel fee. I do occasionally visit other cities also such as Melbourne or Sydney, to check if I’m visiting your city follow me on Instagram.

HOW DO I RECEIVE MY IMAGES?

I provide an online photo gallery where you can select your images after your photoshoot and even comeback to select more should you wish. All final images will be shared to your personal gallery in which you can then download your images in a high resolution JPEG format. This is suitable for both online and print purposes.

WHAT DO I BRING TO MY SHOOT?

Well that is going to depend on your shoot! I’d recommend contacting me so we can discuss your particular requirements. However in saying that, the following are some recommendations.

Light or ‘natural look’ makeup is my preferred style for female models and dancers, makeup is just to enhance your natural features not hide them*. Simplicity is key here so good eyeliner, mascara, foundation and blush/bronzer with neutral shadows and nothing with to much shine (particularly with studio lights).

For dancers at minimum I recommend bringing a few leotards, at least one black, white/nude and colour/patterned one, more options are always better! Don’t bring anything to ‘glitzy’ as this isn’t my general style. If you have a performance tutu, practice/half tutu, skirts or dance uniform I recommend bringing these along to your photoshoot of course, you can also bring other items such as crop tops, activewear etc depending on the look you are after. Also a recommendation with leotards in photoshoots is to wear nude coloured seamless underwear as otherwise this can show in the final photos, bras etc are not recommended for similar reasons.

*exception being being that are we are doing a particular look for a Creative photoshoot of course!
